This is beautiful.
“Nachts” is a home recording experiment by Janek Sprachta, an EP recorded and completed in one day. The idea: A room full of instruments, a handful of microphones, 24 hours at hand and the goal to craft a piece of music that incorporates all ideas that spring to mind. The music on this release is coming from a rather neo-classical branch of Janek’s diverse creative background, having played in various bands and projects over the years, covering a wide range of the musical spectrum. “Nachts" is a departure from his band activities in many ways, all is improvised from scratch, carefully layered and condensed into four pieces of instrumental nature.
The EP is out now, you have the choice between a beautiful handmade CD-R edition or a digital version here.
Blunderbuss, Jack White’s first solo album, will be released April 24th by way of his own record label, Third Man Records.
“Blunderbuss is an album I couldn’t have released until now,” says White. “’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”
This is a new song of mine, taken from a new EP I did with author Christian Ludwig. “Sendawoy” is Christian Ludwig’s debut novel, this new EP is a reinterpretation of the book through new music I wrote, recorded and programmed. Excerpts of the book were captured with tape machines indoors and outdoors with the author reading and music was created especially for this release to play with the mood and story of the book. The result is a short journey through the pages filled with twists and turns. The “Sendawoy” EP also features a title track of the same name and is available now in physical and digital editions via Bloody Hands Ltd. and Lieblingsempire from here.
The title track is inspired by the book but sung by me. You can listen to it right here. Cheers!
Enough work for this week. Cheerio I say, cheerio I sing. This is the fourth and last song to be written for my EP “Hideouts”. A farewell to the past.
The EP is available as a limited handmade CDr over here… Please enjoy! Let me know what you think.

I started this back in 2007 as it only was a two minute instrumental. I discovered it again last summer and started to write more melodies and words and arranged it differently to make it work as a song. Lots of fun to do and nice to finally have it in finished form.
I hope you enjoy it, feel free to share!

I will play two special shows in Hamburg and Berlin this weekend… First one will be at Hamburg’s Astra-Stube on October 8 with Niedervolt Houdini, which featured alongside Tellavision on the “Demo Dandies #1” tape compilation. It’s a small monthly festival called “Filthy Diamonds”. And filthy it will be! After the live sets there will be enough DJ action for anyone’s electronic-loving feet. On October 9 I will play a special living room show in Berlin-Kreuzberg w/ House of Wolves and Brokof, sounds already like like a lot of fun to me! The Berlin set will be different from the one in Hamburg. Let’s leave it at that… To attend the show in Berlin you have to reserve your seats right here, because they will be very limited. It’s a living room, people! Here are the links and dates again:
Furthermore I record on a daily basis in Hamburg right now, working on a first release of own material. Scary stuff to do, but I enjoy it a lot. The battle against the machines continues for a little while but it’s not too long until you might hear something.
See you at the shows!
Work, work, work: That’s my room in Hamburg until recently, I just moved to another flat a few days ago.
